C Shane Hume, D.O.

Dr. C. Shane Hume, a native Oklahoman, graduated from Duncan High School before attending the University of Oklahoma where he obtained a degree in pharmacy. He received his medical degree from Oklahoma State University Health Sciences in Tulsa. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Saint Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. He then completed a spine surgery fellowship at the texas Back Institute in Plano, Texas. He specializes in adult cervical and lumbar spinal disorders.

Dr Hume’s philosophy is to use a multidisciplinary approach to treat spinal conditions. Proper diagnosis leads to a comprehensive treatment plan. Surgery is reserved to address specific pathology in those who do not respond to proper conservative treatment. Minimally invasive techniques are utilized where appropriate with the main goal being to do what is required to treat the problem. Each patient and condition is unique and surgery is individualized to meet the specific goal of getting the patient back to their life.
