Douglas DeWindt, PA-C

Douglas hails from Hutchinson and Salina, Kansas, where he was raised and attended Salina South High School. After graduation, he sought and completed a bachelor’s in Biology at Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, OK. Douglas then worked for over a year with our providers here at Southwest Orthopedics to obtain experience and form connections prior to Physician Assistant School. He then attended Oklahoma City University’s Physician Assistant Program for nearly three years, where he served as Class President and earned his master’s degree. He then graduated, was certified nationally, and returned to work as a provider alongside two of his mentors in our group: Supervising Physician Doctor Kristopher Avant and Kyle Hollingsworth, PA-C.

Douglas is happily married to his wife Melissa, a high school math teacher in Edmond Public Schools. He loves movies, music, football, dogs, and being social. His interest in medicine can be traced to childhood home videos of his toddler self dancing to George Clooney’s “ER” theme song. His specific interest in Orthopedic Medicine began by participating in competitive 5A High School Football, increased during Human Anatomy with Cadaver Dissection in undergraduate studies, and finally, was fostered by his time with us prior to his Master’s Degree. Douglas also moonlights in local Urgent Care settings and maintains that he will forever remain a student of Medicine. Douglas is always happy to see you at our Yukon location and surgery centers and looks to have availability at the OKC location coming in early 2023.
